The Day of Knowledge this year for the children of the village of Vygonichi, Bryansk region, was marked not only by a solemn line, but also by the hoisting of the Russian flag. The symbol of our country was raised by the members of the Youth Army, the banner fluttered beautifully in front of the newly renovated school.

The builders did a great job. Vygonichskaya school with a rich history – it will soon be 70 years old. Therefore, a major overhaul is most welcome for this educational institution, in which 400 schoolchildren can study at the same time.

In accordance with the federal program for the modernization of school education systems, the scope for major repairs was serious – it was necessary to repair the facade of the building, 10 classrooms, recreation, a catering unit and a dining room. Furniture, catering equipment, tablets, necessary equipment for a modern biology class were also purchased. Works were carried out on laying floor tiles, lining new sanitary rooms for middle and senior children. Heating and lighting systems are fully installed, false ceilings are made.

Recall that the school is located in the center of the village of Vygonichi. It was founded in 1952. From 1935 to 1941, Pavel Mikhailovich Zaitsev studied at the school. Being a 21-year-old guy, he covered the embrasure of the pillbox with his body. The fighters of his unit were able to go forward, destroy 38 Nazis. At the cost of his own life, a native of the Vygonichi district helped the company to complete a combat mission. February 26, 1945 he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously). By the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR of January 18, 1961, the school was named after Pavel Zaitsev.
