Associate Professor Ivanova-Shvets: spouses who celebrated the “golden wedding” are entitled to payment

Married couples who celebrated the “golden wedding” can count on a cash payment from the authorities.

Plekhanova Lyudmila Ivanova-Shvets in an interview with the agency “Prime” said that those couples who celebrated the “golden wedding” can count on a cash payment from the authorities. However, such rules are valid only in 19 regions of Russia.

She clarified that only those families who have lived in an official, registered marriage for 50 years or more can receive payments from regional authorities.

“Payments in honor of the wedding anniversary are made by regional authorities, so their size varies in each subject of the Russian Federation. Each region sets its own rules and norms,” Ivanova-Shvets added.

According to the associate professor, for example, in St. Petersburg, a thousand rubles are charged for each lived year, and in the end, the heroes of the day receive 50 thousand rubles. At the same time, in the Kaluga region, for 50 years of marriage, a married couple will receive only 4.5 thousand rubles.

In some regions, anniversaries receive commemorative medals or other insignia. To receive a payment, anniversaries must contact the social security authorities.
