The State Duma turned to Krasnov because of the prices for building materials amid floods

Alexander Yakubovsky, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, sent a letter to the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov with a request to take control of prices for building materials in regions affected by floods. A copy of the letter was also sent to the head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Maxim Shaskolsky.

“Taking into account the acute social significance of the issues of the speedy restoration of the affected settlements, movable and immovable property of citizens, as well as in order to minimize damage to both the budgets of the affected regions and the federal budget, I ask you to instruct the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, the prosecutorial authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation affected by the flood in 2024 year, take control of rising prices for building materials,” says the letter, which cites TASS.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations as of April 16, the spring flood this year flooded more than 10 thousand residential buildings. Preliminary damage is estimated at 40 billion rubles.
