Yandex received a certificate for the processing of personal data of EU citizens

Yandex Cloud received a certificate of compliance with the European standard ISO 27701, which will allow the provider to comply with international requirements for the protection of personal data (PD), including those specified in the unified European GDPR regulation. The certificate was issued on December 9 for three years by the Vienna certification body TÜV Austria CERT GmbH for two legal entities – Yandex.Cloud LLC and Yandex.Technologies LLC for three data processing centers (DPC) in Vladimir, Mytishchi and Sasov near Moscow (Ryazan region). .). The most demanded cloud services got under certification according to the ISO 27701 standard, follows from the message of “Yandex”: infrastructure, data platform, containerization of applications and serverless computing. For what purpose the company initiated the international certification procedure, its representative refused to explain, limiting himself to the wording “regular confirmation of compliance with Russian and international security standards to protect customer data.”
