Sberbank offered the financial market, marketplaces and telecoms to open data to each other for the exchange of client information. The first deputy chairman of the board of the credit institution, Alexander Vedyakhin, spoke about this on December 14 at the Fintech conference organized by Vedomosti. According to him, Sberbank advocates the introduction of open interfaces (open API) in the form of an open data model. “Open banking, which we are talking about now, is a good topic, but it is already outgoing, the next topic is open data. Because open banking is only about banks,” Vedyakhin said.
If you raise the issue of data exchange, then you need to immediately make it possible for everyone with everyone, he believes. Telecoms and marketplaces have a huge amount of customer information that can be useful to banks and insurers. The same applies to data collected by financial institutions. This will allow people to quickly and easily use any payment instruments on marketplaces, Vedyakhin explained: financial structures will receive data from marketplaces and provide counter services. This will lead to good quality competition for the client, he believes.
