Microsoft will stop supporting Office 2016 and 2019 application packages – Kommersant

American corporation Microsoft reportedwhich will completely stop supporting Office 2016 and Office 2019 office suites as of October 14, 2025. The company stopped fully supporting applications from the suites in October 2020 and October 2023, respectively, but updated security features.

Support for Office 2021 will remain (it is going to end in October 2026), also this year the company going release a new version of Office 2024 – a suite of applications that can work without an Internet connection. Microsoft expects Office 2024 to be supported for five years from release. The company emphasizes that the capabilities of the Office 2024 suite are limited: they lack some of the functions available in the cloud Microsoft 365, as well as AI capabilities.

Previously Microsoft reportedwhich will now sell Teams as a separate product to enterprise customers, and not just as part of the Office suite and Microsoft 365 commercial suites. The company also added a number of improvements to the work of the Copilot AI assistant in Teams: it has learned to combine written chats and oral transcripts into a common presentation, and summary notes will also be presented there.
