The press service of the Yandex company told the press that the case of an incorrect answer from the voice assistant “Alice” that Masha from the cartoon “Masha and the Bear” is a ghost was an isolated incident and currently this situation does not repeat itself.
“Previously, “Alice” could give the wrong answer to a question about the family of the main character of the cartoon “Masha and the Bear”. Currently, such situations do not occur,” the press service noted.
They emphasized that to protect children from inappropriate content when communicating with the voice assistant, parents are recommended to activate the children’s mode.
The company also explained that “Alice” is constantly learning new things and tries to select appropriate answers for dialogue with her owner. If she cannot answer a question on her own, she uses information from open sources.
Earlier, the children’s ombudsman in St. Petersburg, Anna Mityanina, expressed concern about “Alice’s” answer to a question about the cartoon “Masha and the Bear.”
When asked why Masha lives alone in the forest with a bear, the voice assistant replied that Masha is a ghost, therefore she does not grow, and only animals see her.
