According to Sobyanin, the Moscow authorities took all warning measures in a timely manner, and large city parks and other open public places were promptly closed.

“Messages about the danger were on the city’s screens, the warning boards of the central traffic center, etc. But, unfortunately, there were casualties. 17 were injured, two of them died… At this hour, city services are promptly taking all measures to eliminate the consequences.” , he wrote.

The mayor also expressed condolences to the families of the victims and assured that all victims were receiving the necessary medical care.
