Where the Russians brawled in the summer: favorite places for showdowns by tourists are named

Experts of emergency warning systems, or, more simply, the “panic button” that is equipped with places of mass visits, having analyzed its pressing in domestic tourist oases, compiled a top list of places where vacationers most often violated public order during the season.

We were curious about where and how Russian tourists most often go beyond what is permitted.

In the high season from May to September, about 30 thousand “purely tourist crimes” accumulated at domestic resorts, and they were classified, identifying the most common ones.

– The first three “strongest” in general were predictable, – analysts comment on the picture received. – 80% of calls to rapid response teams during the summer came from establishments serving alcohol – restaurants, cafes and bars. It was there that vacationers most often made scandals and loud showdowns.

A variety of “liquor drinks” won “gold” among the places where domestic vacationers most often go beyond the boundaries of law and order. Experts clarify: in restaurants and cafes – that is, in places where a snack is primary, and not a strong drink – the average Russian vacationer, although he broke dishes and spoiled furniture, did not reach assault. But in bars and wine glasses, where they drop in for the specific purpose of “taking on the chest”, against the backdrop of a loud showdown, there were also fights.

But the “silver” this year, according to analysts, is unexpected – in the sense that in the ratings of previous years such an offense did not take “prize” places – this is the theft of alcohol in stores.

“The internal mechanism of committing this offense is extremely simple,” comments a forensic psychologist. – Alcohol has risen in price, as well as rest. But people didn’t get rich, plus they spent money on vacation, and that’s the result.

But, according to experts, holiday-goers who “shovel” alcohol in resort stores are not at all targeted attackers who go to work, having previously drawn up a robbery plan. These are vacationers who have already begun to relax pleasantly, but are forced to end the party due to lack of “fuel”. True, in the eyes of the law, the desire to “catch up” at any cost does not excuse them.

Completing the top three places where the alarm button was most often pressed in the summer are accommodation facilities – that is, places where the holiday-goer inevitably returned after the program items that took first and second places.

“It often happens that a sober and drunk guest is like two different people,” says the hostess of a guesthouse in Crimea. – For example, this August, such a pleasant man arrived, polite, intelligent, said that he was a writer. And it’s true that in the evenings he wrote something all the time, he almost didn’t go anywhere. And then he suddenly left, and returned in the middle of the night, well, like a different person! He began to demand that the night attendant “drive him for wine”, he did not listen to any explanations that all the shops had been closed for a long time. He was talking about some vineyards. Then he tried to break the door to the dining room, they say, we hide alcohol from him there. In general, I had to call the outfit, although I did not want to disgrace him, of course. After all, he was such a good guest until someone poured him a drink. And after we handed him over to the police, he, of course, will not come to us again. Neither in our guest house, nor in our village – what a disgrace.

Similarly, in a certain state this summer, guests of luxury hotels, as well as health resorts, behaved, providing accommodation facilities with a confident “bronze” as favorite places for tourists to brawl. Airplanes and trains are in fourth place; in transport, vacationers are also more likely to misbehave after a glass, but it happens that they are sober.

– This summer, everything was crowded in the southern directions, – the conductor of the Moscow-Krasnodar train shares. “People are overwhelmed, there is a hustle and bustle, and the prices don’t help to appease. Therefore, if suddenly there is some kind of confusion with the places, the top-bottom shelf was not divided, then immediately a scandal. This summer has been especially stressful.

As an interesting trend, analysts noted another “novelty” in the field of tourist offenses – thefts in souvenir shops. Moreover, the leaders in this type of theft are not coastal cities, as in previous cases, but St. Petersburg.

– Tourists from all over Russia traveled around the country, most of them with children on vacation, – says the sales assistant of the St. Petersburg bookstore, where souvenirs were also regularly missing at the height of the tourist season. – A tourist from the outback is not rich, and relatives need to bring souvenirs, so, apparently, small things were taken away. But I believe in people, it’s not always intentional. There was a case before my eyes: a child of about four years old was fiddling with a key chain from a basket that was publicly available on the trading floor, and then put it into a pocket. Mommy definitely didn’t see this, she was leafing through books at that moment. I was just about to slowly approach and tell the baby in his ear to put him in his place, as some other visitor, who also apparently noticed, raised a scandal. Moreover, he yells at the mother of the child, but she does not understand anything … Alas, in a large stream such unpleasant situations are inevitable.

In conclusion, experts noted that last summer most of the tourist outrages occurred in the Krasnodar Territory, St. Petersburg and Chelyabinsk, where autotourists from all over the region gathered, including those who planned to cross the land border with Kazakhstan.
