A polar bear rescued on Dixon Island and brought to Moscow will no longer be able to walk, a neurologist came to this conclusion. Svetlana Akulova, director of the Moscow Zoo, spoke about this in her telegram channel.
“A vertebral fracture, spinal cord contusion, myelopathy – because of such injuries, the animal will never be able to walk again. Perhaps the situation will be improved a little by physiotherapy and swimming,” she said.
According to her, the specialists will separately develop a rehabilitation program and will continue to “fight for the bear”.
Akulova also showed a video with the animal, which, despite the disappointing forecasts, behaves quite actively and tries to move around the cage, leaning on its front paws.
