But there are also those who work tirelessly and do not have the opportunity or desire to take advantage of legal vacation days. So, every person who works under an employment contract has the right to paid leave. Usually this is 28 days, but for some specialties or people working in certain conditions (for example, in hazardous work), additional days of paid leave are established by law or by the employer.

Many people know that a vacation can be divided into several parts and that one of them cannot be less than 14 days. And what to do with unused days if a person no longer plans to rest during the year?

The Ministry of Labor explained that unused vacation days can be transferred to the next year. But at the same time, you need to remember that according to the law, the employer is obliged to provide you with leave at least once every two years.

That is, if you are entitled to 28 days of vacation per year, then you should not have more than 56 days of unused vacation. By the way, here it should be remembered that vacation days accumulate gradually, on average, one day every two weeks.

Usually, when the number of vacation days approaches a critical figure, the employer strongly recommends that the employee go on vacation. But it is not necessary to do so.

If desired, you can receive monetary compensation for accumulated vacation days in excess of the annual norm. At the same time, its size is calculated in the same way as when calculating ordinary vacation pay. To receive such compensation, you need to contact the personnel department and write an appropriate application addressed to the employer.

Only certain categories of employees cannot take advantage of this opportunity, namely: pregnant women and employees under 18 years of age. The employer must provide them with leave at least once a year.
