In the Russian period, a serious emergency occurred in May 2010. On May 8, at 23:55, an explosion occurred in the area of well No. 8. At that time, 359 people were underground. Four hours later, when rescue work was already underway, there was a second, even more powerful, explosion. 91 people died, more than 100 were injured.
