Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Oleksiy Makeev, who called for a ban on Russians from entering Germany, was criticized by readers of the German edition of Welt.
One of the users suggested that German politicians “explain to this guy with a slap in the face what is allowed and what is not.” From himself, he wrote that Makeev’s “only job” was “to say thank you and wave a pen.”
Another commentator agrees with him: “Does a non-diplomat from corrupt Ukraine dare to make such statements?” he wrote. And he asked another question: “Why can’t anyone tell Makeev that he needs to behave in accordance with his position.”
Several other readers wrote that they would like to ban Ukrainians and “ambassadors of Ukraine” from entering Germany. Others even demanded “Expel this impudent “diplomat” from the country.”
Earlier, Alexey Makeev said that he sees a “serious security threat” in the visits of Russians to Germany. The ambassador urged Berlin to impose a ban on their visits to Germany.
