The bank, together with the Moscow Metro and LLC Aeroexpress, has expanded the possibilities of paying for travel on Aeroexpress, the press service of the credit institution reported. Two more routes have been connected to biometric payment.
“We have scaled the service to all areas of Aeroexpress, continuing the course towards digitalization of processes and the introduction of modern payment solutions at Moscow’s transport infrastructure facilities,” said Vadim Izotov, Head of the Department for the Development and Maintenance of Special Electronic Products, Senior Vice President of VTB Bank.
Two specially equipped turnstiles are connected to the biometric payment system.
“We expect that about 500,000 people will use the system by the end of the year. The service has a banking level of protection, outside interference is excluded. Other payment methods will also continue to work, and the choice will always remain with the passenger. We continue to expand the introduction of domestic digital technologies in urban transport on the task of Moscow Mayor Sobyanin,” said Deputy Moscow Mayor for Transport Maxim Liksutov.
Passengers can now pay with a glance for a trip to Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports.
“Face recognition payment is especially convenient for air passengers – there is no need to waste time buying a ticket at the box office or online, there is no need to put anything on the turnstile if your hands are full of luggage,” summed up Aeroexpress CEO Andrey Akimov.
