Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said on Wednesday that the anticyclone will bring severe cooling to the entire European part of the Russian Federation in the coming days.
It is expected that the temperature in the Northwestern, Urals, Central and Volga federal districts from January 6 will drop below the climatic norm by 8-16 degrees.
Cold weather will come to the south of the country from January 7-8.
The most severe frosts are expected in the Urals – there already from Wednesday on thermometers you can see 30-40 degrees.
The hydrometeorological center issued an emergency warning due to abnormally cold weather in the Sverdlovsk region and the Perm region from January 4 to 9.
