The pre-winter season is approaching in the European part of Russia. Residents of the region will face unstable weather for the next two months. This was stated by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation, Roman Vilfand. Winter should be expected in mid-latitudes no earlier than mid-December, the meteorologist believes.
He added that the pre-winter period is a natural meteorological season. In total, experts believe there are six of them. In addition to the already known autumn, winter and spring, there are also pre-winter, the first and second half of summer. In the European part of Russia, the pre-winter period begins around mid-October.
This season is characterized by unstable weather. Cold snaps are replaced by sharp warmings. There is a lot of precipitation and low clouds. The onset of winter can be determined by the appearance of more stable weather. There will be much more clear days.
