Universities have published lists of students: many did not pass

The finale and culmination of the admission campaign at universities were, as usual, orders with a list of those enrolled in various forms of education. Everyone is primarily interested in full-time students and state employees – they were “hanged” on the morning of August 9th. “MK” together with applicants studied the lists in various universities.

In fact, many of this admissions campaign were satisfied. The Ministry of Education and Science – because most universities ahead of schedule, already after August 3, reported that they “closed budget places.” And, in brackets, the heads of universities are also happy – on the sidelines they said that the rectors were obliged to use the entire budget on their own responsibility, so as not to repeat the affront with the additions of 2022.

Satisfied, in general, and applicants. There were no high-profile scandals with failures of the “progressive” service, the portal worked with dignity. 69% of applicants used electronic submission of documents. The sites of universities did not fall, as in previous years, and even almost did not hang. The average score for admission has increased by 10-20 points at ordinary universities, and by 30-40 points at top universities.

And yet, the peculiarity of the 2023 campaign, albeit implicit, has emerged. It lies in the fact that target recipients and quota applicants “rule the score”.

In our oldest and most famous university, Moscow State University, as expected in the first lines, those who entered the BVI flaunt (without entrance exams, that is, “olympiads”). In the general competition, there is no one whose score for the USE subject fell below 80-90. We are looking at a not the most prestigious faculty of sociology: three out of 19 people passed through a separate quota for participants in the SVO and their children, and they have the same high scores as in the main competition. If there is a profit, then in early admission – 858 people competed in the main list.

And here is a surprise at HSE. For example, in the specialty “business informatics” the passing score of the main competition is 290 and even higher. For state and municipal administration – over 260. Design, which is popular this year at HSE, is all 290-300, economics and data analysis are sky-high 390 points “with hook”.

There are few applicants for the SVO quota. Only one person went to philology. But for business informatics – 7, and one applicant with 147 points. And there are 145 points for public administration. There are even more amazing indicators – 85 points for designers, for example …

At MVTU im. Bauman, where, unlike last year, the entire budget was filled not only in Moscow, but also in branches, there is also a noticeable spread between students from the main list and various beneficiaries. In the most prestigious areas, such as applied mathematics, mathematics and computer science, applied informatics is not so obvious, there are only 2-3 people for a separate quota. Olympians, those without BVI, are twice as many. But in the rest of the stream – and these are “rocketmen” and designers of aircraft – the picture is different. If in the general competition the average scores of applicants are above 250, and there are closer to 300, then for quotas they are about 220-230. On “computer security” the line came across and did 173 points. But there are as many as 8 Olympiads in the chosen direction, which is in sharp contrast with the applicant who earned 50-60 points for each USE. However, there are also “biotechnologies”, where one can say, only target audience (students sent to study by enterprises). There are 15 of them, and 7 more Olympiads and 7 people according to the quota. We did not find a single person in the general competition.

Interestingly, the State Duma has already far-sightedly proposed not to expel “refugees from the DPR and LPR” if they do not succeed at the university. The first deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, Professor Alexander Mazhuga called on universities to conduct additional classes if necessary. So that “everyone studies together” and everyone has “an equally good quality Russian education.”

MIPT publishes preliminary lists so far. The “Best Mathematical” holds the palm — in the leading areas of IT, the competition starts with 399 points and does not fall below 300. Beneficiaries also have good indicators: in the “special right” (special benefit) category, applicants with 271, 270, 290, 361, 285 points, etc. entered the university. The competition here is wild – almost 5,000 applications compete in the general list.

Another industry with traditionally “scrap” competition is medicine. “MK” studied the preliminary lists of RNIMU them. Pirogov, known as the “Second Honey”. It is striking how the low score of the “quotas” in certain areas, as well as the abundance of targeted reception. 12 people with scores ranging from 291 to 215 were admitted to the most prestigious area of ​​medicine under a separate quota. There were also 6 people without BVI. On “pediatrics” according to a separate quota – 5 people, but there is an applicant with a score of 189. There are also two Olympiads on the list. The “preferential” passing score in “clinical psychology” is also not encouraging: 5 people were admitted according to the quota with USE scores of only 238-202. And only one Olympiad.

– In Sechenovka, on the other hand, at the last moment, the budget was poured from above, – Mikhail from Moscow, who did not enter Pirogovka, shares his feelings. – Seven people slipped through. And here, on the contrary, the score at the end climbed up immediately by 40 points. 269 ​​points is too much, I flew. It was necessary to transfer the original to Sechenov.

“MK” decided to study the lists of teachers. And here’s a surprise – the website of the Moscow State Pedagogical University (Moscow State Pedagogical University) hung and did not open, it started working only after half an hour. So, in one of the most popular areas of training, a teacher in mathematics and computer science (with two profiles), the average score in the main competition is 280-215. According to quotas, only a few people took this specialty, but with scores much lower, there are even less than 200.

On the website of the GSTU (State Humanitarian and Technological University) it turned out even sadder. There is a target on the lists – a future mathematics teacher with 159 points in the Unified State Examination. And it’s even written that 46 of them are in mathematics (and 69 in Russian, why didn’t he go to philology?) Or in the “psychology of education” – an alleged social psychologist with 127 points. Specifically for the Unified State Examination: 40, 42, 40 … In the general competition for the university, the scores are also not very high, but still, above 220.

– My daughter initially set her sights on a pedagogical university and went there purposefully for two years, – says the mother of the applicant Evgenia from Khimki. – At the Open Day, she was told that there would be 75 state-funded places for linguists. In fact, after all the targeted students, beneficiaries and participants in the Olympiads, there were 17 places left. She was very afraid that she would not make it, but in the end she nevertheless made it to the lists, because at the university the score for a foreign teacher did not increase much, only by 22 points .
