Two Russian women received benefits worth almost 1 million rubles for non-existent children

In Kamchatka, a mother and daughter received payments of almost 1 million rubles for non-existent children

Press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Kamchatka Territory in a publication on department website reports that in Kamchatka, a 43-year-old mother and her 26-year-old daughter are accused of fraud in receiving payments in the amount of almost 1 million rubles for non-existent children.

According to the press service of the department, the women are accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud in receiving payments on a large scale”), under which they face punishment in the form of a large fine and imprisonment for up to six years.

The investigation version says that at one of the Moscow markets, women met criminals who offered them, for money, to issue a child’s birth certificate based on false information about the birth that allegedly took place outside the maternity hospital. It is noted that the mother was the first to take part in the criminal scheme.

As the department noted, after receiving the completed documents, she contacted the MFC and submitted an application asking for benefits and payments in connection with the birth of a child, after which she received 443 thousand rubles. The prosecutor’s office added that her daughter later received 503 thousand rubles under a similar scheme. Representatives of the department clarified that both women admitted guilt in the crime.
