The governor of the Tula region, Alexei Dyumin, referring to the request of defense and other industrial enterprises, appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to return drawing lessons to the educational programs of secondary schools. The head of the region, who also heads the commission of the State Council in the direction of “Industry”, said this on April 4 at a meeting of the Presidium of the State Council in Tula.
“Communicating at their post in a developed industrial region, chemistry, metallurgy, the defense industry, engineers, designers, technologists, teachers of technical universities of the base – everyone asks to return drafting to school,” Dyumin emphasized. According to the governor, this subject is one of the main ones in the initial engineering training.
“It is clear that now there is a lot of specialized computer software, but everyone is asking for this discipline to be returned to school education,” the governor summed up, addressing the president. “I would like to ask you to consider this issue at a high level and make an appropriate decision.”
In addition, Alexei Dyumin said that his commission is discussing a proposal to return entrance exams for technical universities, not limited to the admission of students to such important specialties in the Unified State Examination.
