Lvova-Belova: the decision on the return of orphans to their homeland will be made by the heads of new regions
The heads of the new Russian regions will decide on the return of orphans to their homeland after the end of hostilities. This was announced during a briefing at the Russian Foreign Ministry Commissioner for Children’s Rights under the President of the Russian Federation Maria Lvova-Belova.
Journalists were interested in whether it is planned to return the children to their homes when the conflict is over. All children, as noted by the Ombudsman, have legal representatives. If we are talking about children who are in families, then the decision, according to her, “will be made by legal representatives, parents.”
Decisions on children who were brought up in social institutions will be made by the heads of the new constituent entities of the Russian Federation. “If this decision is made, then, of course, they will return to their institutions,” Lvova-Belova replied.
