Taiwanese corporation TSMC, the world’s largest microchip manufacturer, has postponed the launch of chip production on the 3 nm process technology. About it on Thursday reported Taiwanese research company TrendForce.
According to her, the delay is due to the fact that the American corporation Intel, which agreed with TSMC on the production of such microchips, has postponed the start of production of its tGPU chipsets for Meteor Lake processors to the end of 2023. Initially, it was supposed to start production by the end of this year, then due to technical difficulties, the launch was postponed until early 2023. The postponement to the end of 2023 means that TSMC will begin production of such microchips closer to this time.
In June, Samsung is the world’s first began mass production of 3nm chips.
