Roskomnadzor requested information about the leakage of personal data from the Pyaterochka retail chain, informs TASS with reference to the press service of the department. Earlier, information began to appear in Telegram channels that the data of people who responded to the retailer’s vacancies became publicly available on the Internet.
“Roskomnadzor sent a request to the administration of the Pyaterochka retail chain demanding to provide detailed information about a possible leak of personal data in the company,” the department said.
July 18 Roskomnadzor made up administrative protocol regarding the Delivery Club food delivery service due to personal data leakage. For violation of Russian legislation in this area, a fine of up to 100,000 rubles is provided. Three days later, Roskomnadzor made up Protocol under Part 1 of Art. 13.11 Administrative Code on “Rostelecom» for the data breach. Based on the results of the audit, the service revealed violations of the law in the field of circulation of personal data of customers.
August 2 State Duma in the third reading voted for amendments to Federal Law-152 “On Personal Data”: now operators will be required to monitor cyber attacks and leaks of personal information of citizens and report them to regulatory authorities. The Federation Council is expected to adopt the law in autumn, after which it will be sent to the President for approval.
