The Guardian reported that a diver off the coast of the New Guinean island of New Ireland took pictures of unusual jellyfish.
According to the publication, they reach the size of a soccer ball. At the same time, a pattern consisting of black rings, lines and spots is applied to their bells.
According to zoologists, these jellyfish belong to the mysterious species Chirodectes maculatus. A representative of this species was found only once. It happened on the Great Barrier Reef. According to another version, the jellyfish captured on the video belong to a previously unknown species.
