Twenty carriages left the tracks on the Trans-Baikal railway due to a collision with a car
According to Telegram channel of the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office, twenty carriages derailed on the Trans-Baikal Railway due to a collision with a passenger car, which led to the suspension of train services. According to the report, an investigation into this incident is being carried out by the Skovorodino Transport Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident occurred on the Bamovskaya-Gorely section at 7234 km of track on March 18, 2024, where 20 empty cars derailed after a collision with a passenger car.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital and work is currently underway to restore the area. It is also noted that passenger train No. 1, traveling from Vladivostok to Moscow, was delayed due to the incident.
