TikTok duo of a Chechen and a policeman became a hit in Austria

Austrian police officer Uwe and 23-year-old social worker from Chechnya Ahmad became the stars of the Austrian TikTok segment. Their project helps destroy stereotypes on both sides and improve dialogue between authorities and migrants.
Young Chechens have repeatedly complained that the media unfairly associates them with crime and religious extremism. So Ahmad suggested making short Q&A videos about Austrian laws, rules and regulations.
He left Chechnya as a child, and admitted that he himself had many problems with the police. Moreover, the officers insulted him when he came to the station with any question.
The other half of the duo “Policeman and Che” was the 59-year-old law enforcement officer Uwe. He answers questions about what will happen if a migrant is detained without documents or what risks a person who makes graffiti.
The video has been filmed since November, but the most popular was the video on the legality of using firecrackers for the New Year. It has been viewed 2.6 million times.
Curiously, Ahmad and Uwe’s TikTok channel is watched not only by 35,000 Chechens living in Austria. He became popular among the indigenous people of the country. The policeman admitted that he is often asked to take a selfie with him. The Chechen complained that some would accuse him of collaborating with the police.
