The Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) informed RBC Editor-in-Chief Petr Kanaev about the arrest of his property. The reason was the untimely payment of a fine of 4 thousand rubles imposed on the editorial office. and a penalty of 1000 rubles. The penalty was imposed under Art. 13.15, part 2.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (dissemination in the media of information about foreign agents or their materials without indicating their status) due to the fact that RBC did not indicate the status of the SOVA center (it was entered by the Ministry of Justice into the register of foreign agents).
According to RBC, the arrest was imposed by a bailiff from the Stupino ROSP of the main department of the FSSP Milena Zhavrova. By her decision, the apartment of Mr. Kanaev with an area of 33 square meters was arrested. m and a cottage in the Stupinsky district with an area of 117 sq. m on eight acres. The editor-in-chief of the publication himself called such a measure disproportionate to the violation committed.
“I received a letter from the bailiffs with a notice of the seizure of property today (March 9.— “b”) in the morning through “Gosuslugi”. There are quite a lot of such fines all the time, I could miss one. Usually they are automatically deducted from the salary. But the decision to arrest my apartment and dacha because of a debt of 5,000 rubles. from the point of view of the proportionality of the scale of the violation and the punishment that followed it, I consider it inexplicably excessive,” he commented.
