Moscow veterans will receive financial assistance on May 9

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers in Moscow will receive a lump sum payment by May 9. The resolution was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, according to site city hall. The amount of payments will be from 10 thousand to 25 thousand rubles. 49.6 thousand veterans will receive material assistance in the capital.
All categories of citizens who will receive payments on the eve of May 9:
- invalids and participants of the Great Patriotic War;
- military men who served in military units that were not part of the army in the field;
- military men awarded orders and medals of the USSR for service from June 22, 1941 to September 3, 1945;
- holders of the medal “For the Defense of Leningrad”;
- disabled from childhood due to injury, concussion or injury received during the war years;
- participants in the defense of Moscow;
- residents of besieged Leningrad and besieged Sevastopol;
- widows of soldiers who died during the war;
- holders of the badge “Honorary Donor of the USSR” for donating blood during the war years;
- former prisoners of Nazi concentration camps, prisons and ghettos;
- rear workers;
- born before December 31, 1931.
