With the arrival of warm weather, ticks appeared in Moscow parks and its green areas. Experts ask you to take precautions when going out into nature.

The head of the biodiversity department of the Moscow Department of Nature Management and Environment, Azamat Kunafin, told RIA Novosti about ways to prevent tick bites.

“Although there is no talk of a mass emergence of these arthropods yet, we recommend taking precautions. Ticks are carriers of dangerous diseases that can develop very rapidly,” told Kunafin.

First of all, you should choose the right clothes. For walks in parks and forests, you need to wear closed clothing made of thick fabric. Pants and sleeves must cover the entire limbs. It is difficult to spot ticks in your hair, so wear a hat. It is necessary to ensure that the neck does not remain exposed. Azamat Kunafin noted that it is better to wear clothes of a single color. Variegated coloring can hide a tick that has fallen from a tree.

Pants must be tucked into socks. After walks, you should definitely inspect yourself, family members, and even your dog for ticks.

In addition, when hiking in green areas of Moscow, you can use repellents.
