The works of the winners of the art project “Contours of Culture” adorned the cultural centers and libraries of the capital

In Moscow, summed up the results of the pilot season of the All-Russian art project “Contours of Culture”, which was attended by artists from 55 cities of Russia.

The selection for participation in the art project organized by the Moscow Producer Center (Mosproducer) took place this spring. Out of more than 500 sketches submitted to the competition, the experts chose the best 35 in two categories: street art and public art. The winners were artists from ten Russian cities – Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Ivanovo and others. During the summer, they brought their creative ideas to life, painting the walls of cultural centers and libraries of the capital. Work continued until September. As a result, 26 cultural institutions of Moscow and the territories adjacent to them were decorated with 26 author’s wall paintings (murals) and 9 art objects.

– Street art has become a bright part of the interiors of Moscow cultural institutions, harmoniously transforming them. And soon, thanks to the Mosproducer application, all the murals will be converted into AR-format (augmented reality). So the project will also acquire the format of a digital gallery both on each individual site and in the space of a mobile application, – said Andrey Petrov, director of Mosproducer.

The largest in terms of sales area were the works of the Moscow artist Napasio in the House of Culture “Voskhod” with a total area of ​​77 square meters and the St. Petersburg artist Nastya Vokina, who created a mural measuring 90 square meters in the Central Library No. 251 in Zelenograd.

There were among the works of the winners and small in terms of the area occupied. So, for example, now the attention of visitors to the Scarlet Sails cultural center is attracted by the creation of a Moscow calligrapher who creates under the name of Pan Zadorozhny – the phrase “Miracles must be done with your own hands” from the work of Alexander Grin, applied with ligature in the old Russian style.

And one of the walls of the cultural center “Shchukino” was decorated with a mural by the artist Stepan Krasnov, created in the style of pointillism and referring to the painting of the Renaissance.

Also, the winners of the art project “Contours of Culture” transformed the space of the cultural centers “Strogino”, “Moskvorechye”, “Lira”, “Zelenograd”, libraries No. 233, No. 249, No. 61 and others. In addition, the artists decorated stands, steles, flowerpots, benches and cargo containers with their works, which turned from simple elements of urban infrastructure into works of contemporary art.

Andrey Petrov, director of the Moscow Production Center, said that next year the project will be continued, which means that dozens more artists will be able to make themselves known, and new art objects will decorate the capital.
