The Voronezh region has completely abandoned New Year's celebrations

Governor of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev said that the region decided to abandon the planned New Year’s programs. Previously, four districts of the region refused to hold mass events dedicated to the New Year.

“Together with our colleagues, we decided, as a sign of solidarity with our neighbors, to refuse holiday programs these days (the grand opening of the Christmas tree in the central square and the planned concert). Moreover, we refuse the territory not only of the capital of the Black Earth Region, but also of the entire region,” wrote Mr. Gusev Telegram.

This decision was made due to the shelling of Belgorod that occurred the day before, which killed 24 people. The Ministry of Defense said that the attack was carried out by the Ukrainian military with two Vilkha missiles, as well as Czech-made Vampire MLRS rockets.

In support of New Year’s programs they refused in Blagoveshchensk and Vladivostok, Voronezh region, Magadan and in populated areas Kamchatka.
