Veterinarian of the Mosvet station Irina Rozanova on the official website of the Mayor of Moscow gave advice to pet owners on how to reduce stress in their pets during the holidays.

The specialist noted that animals can be frightened not only by fireworks, but also by strangers who come to visit.

For your pet, it would be nice to think over a personal corner, the veterinarian believes.

“He should have a place in the apartment where he can hide, and also spend time calmly while fireworks are launched outside the window,” Rozanova said.

If the animal does not tolerate large crowds of people, you can give him a sedative (intended for his species) or drugs to treat behavioral disorders. But this can only be done with a doctor’s prescription.

Previously, veterinarians, having analyzed the most common reasons for pet owners to go to veterinary clinics, urged people to ensure that their pets do not get cold.
