The head of the Sober Russia project, State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev made a proposal to limit the right of alcohol stores to use websites and mobile applications. This is with reference to a copy of the letter of the deputy addressed to the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko. RT.
In his appeal, the parliamentarian pointed out that at the moment chain stores that specialize in the sale of alcoholic beverages are actively using websites and mobile offers in order to increase sales. On these resources, as Khamzaev noted, one can study in detail the characteristics of a particular product and customer reviews, which themselves perform an advertising function.
The deputy stressed that a number of sites require at the entrance to confirm the age of 18+, indicating that the information posted on them is not intended for minors, however, this procedure is formal, and any minor Russian can “confirm” 18+, having familiarized himself with the range of alcoholic products.
In this regard, Khamzaev asked to support his position on the introduction of a ban on the use of Internet sites and mobile applications by specialized commercial organizations for the retail sale of alcoholic beverages and urged them to join the development of a relevant legislative initiative.
