The press service of the State Duma of the Russian Federation reported that deputies decided to develop legislative norms to combat “bullying” in schools.
It is reported that at a meeting on Thursday, deputy Valery Gartung, commenting shooting at a Bryansk school, proposed to discuss the issue of a legislative definition of such a concept as “bullying”. Deputy Boris Chernyshov, in turn, proposed to analyze the effectiveness of measures taken to prevent such a phenomenon. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin supported the proposals, the press service noted.
Volodin asked deputy Vasily Piskarev to request data from law enforcement agencies on such cases, and the relevant education committee to “work out the definition of “bullying”.”
“Which you submitted as a proposal for a legislative settlement,” Volodin said.
He also asked to join the work of the ex-Ombudsman, Deputy Chairman of the Duma Anna Kuznetsova and the head of the Family Protection Committee Nina Ostanina, “to jointly develop proposals to prevent such tragedies.”
