The share of Russians who consider themselves patriots has reached its maximum

As shown survey VTsIOM, 94% of Russians consider themselves patriots. Including 62% who are unconditional patriots (+10 percentage points over the last year). This is the maximum figure in the entire history of observations.
Experts note that the trend towards “unconditional patriotism” began in the fall of 2014, when the share of those who answered the corresponding question “definitely yes” for the first time in a long time significantly exceeded the share of “rather” patriots. Then this was associated with the reunification of Crimea with Russia. A new surge of unconditional patriotism was recorded after the start of the Northern Military District. Since then it has remained above 50%.
