The Minister of Education of Belarus Andrei Ivanets made an unprecedented message. Students from Russia will now be able to enroll in any Belarusian universities based on the results of the Unified State Exam and at the same time apply for budget-funded places. But there is a condition – two years of work after graduation in the country.

Previously, Russians could also come and enroll in local universities, but only for money. That is, like foreigners. This year, according to the head of the educational departments of Belarus, 1,000 free places in universities have been allocated for Russians.

On the scale of Belarus, this is not so little: it is known that this year in the homeland of “Pesnyary” 55.4 thousand graduates will graduate from 11th grade. Not everyone will apply, but 60%, just like in Russia.

“Enrollment in a budget-funded form of education for these guys (Russians) based on the results of the Unified State Exam provides for the same obligations that our guys from Belarus bear today,” Ivanets said. Implying that, according to local laws, all graduates of budgetary departments of local universities will have “two years of service at enterprises and organizations of our country.”

Technically, enrolling in a university from Russia to Belarus is quite possible. Our education systems are similar in everything, except perhaps for grades – in most “public” schools in the neighboring state it is ten-point. But the Unified State Examination is assessed in its own points, just like the State Final Examination (state final exam, also known as the Centralized Examination) – an analogue of our “state exams” in Belarus.

By the way, even relaxations for surrender were introduced in two countries at the same time. On Putin’s instructions, we introduced an additional retake of one Unified State Examination in the summer. In Belarus this year they introduced as many as two retakes for those who thoughtlessly violated the CE – ts.u. That is, he copied and used mobile phones.

There is no single “progressive” system for all universities and applicants in Belarus. Therefore, you can either fill out an online form on the university website or send your documents by mail. Or come in person.
