The second criminal case of the ex-director of the volleyball “Omichka” will go to the Kuibyshev court

On Tuesday, September 13, the regional prosecutor’s office announced that the former general director of VK Omichka (now disbanded) was charged with embezzlement. We are talking about the amount of 144 thousand rubles.

On Tuesday, September 13, the prosecutor’s office of the Omsk region announced that it had charged the former general director of the women’s volleyball club “Omichka” under the article of the Criminal Code “Embezzlement, that is, theft of someone else’s property entrusted to the guilty, committed by a person using his official position.” The supervisory authority did not name the accused. But it is clear that we are talking about Sergei Shelpakov, who in February already was sentenced to a suspended sentence for embezzlement also of the club’s money, but in the amount of 300 thousand rubles.

In this case, according to the investigation, the embezzlement was in the amount of 144 thousand. It was found that the director, under the guise of paying for services allegedly rendered to the club by his acquaintances, committed in his favor the embezzlement of the said money, which was allocated to Omichka from the regional budget.

At this expense, Shelpakov organized a trip of a friend to Slovakia for a training camp for volleyball players.

The ex-director admitted his guilt and has already fully compensated for the damage caused. The case will soon be sent to the Kuibyshevsky District Court of Omsk.

Earlier we also reportedthat in August, a trial began on a lawsuit filed by the prosecutor’s office to protect the rights of about 80 former employees and players of Omichka, whom the club owed for salaries.

It is worth recalling that in 2016 Omichka was disbanded due to financial problems.
