Athletes from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Urals, the Center and South of Russia, as well as the North Caucasus participated in the archery competitions.
Excellent results were obtained by the Stavropol athletes trained by coaches Alexander Uzhevko and Tatyana Fedorova.
Valery Solgalov, a pupil of the sports school of the regional center, climbed to the second step of the podium in the “compound bow” qualification.
Among men in the same category, Alexander Khadzakos took an honorable third place. He represented the Stavropol Technical School of DOSAAF.
As the city administration explained, the difference between a compound bow and a classic bow is that the full tension of the bowstring is achieved using a special device. The boom speed can be up to 320 kilometers per hour.
