The need to drink 2-2.5 liters of water a day is nothing more than a myth. This was announced by nutritionist Stas Sheremetyev to the Lenta.ru publication.
“This is a fairly general proposal that does not take into account the individual needs of each organism,” he explained.
According to the expert, urine density, elevated hematocrit and bioimpedancemetry (a method by which body composition and the amount of fluids in it can be determined) indicate a lack of fluid.
In addition, Sheremetyev clarified that the level of thirst in a person can be different, so the balance of water in the body must be maintained regardless of the desire to drink.
The specialist said that weakly brewed tea or unsweetened juice helps replenish the water level, while coffee is not included in this list.
