Nutritionist-consultant Alexey Kabanov told “SE”how to consume less sugar.

The first and most important way, he says, is to avoid sugary drinks. The best source of liquid is water, as well as tea and coffee without sugar. In fruit juices, as the nutritionist explains, there is a high content of sugar and useful fiber is completely absent.

Kabanov recommends carefully reading the composition of the products. Sugar is found in large quantities in energy drinks, sports drinks, and flavored yogurts. “Look for names like syrup, fruit juice concentrate, fructose, dextrose, maple or cane syrup,” he advises, pointing out that these are all sources of added sugar.
