In turn, Dmitry Ovchinnikov, chief specialist of the department of integrated information security systems at Gazinformservice, said that the idea of injecting malware into an electronic device is not new, it first appeared in 2016.
“Three years later, in 2019, Google confirmed that some Android OS firmware was modified by third-party manufacturers, while they did not notify Google of such manipulations,” Ovchinnikov said.
He said that modern Android-based phones began to be produced in two versions: the first – the manufacturer puts its own firmware on top of the official firmware, and the second – the revision of the original firmware and its modernization for the “iron” filling of the device.
