Armored plates 1.5-2 mm thick will help against breaking the locks of the front door to the apartment. This was stated by construction expert Fyodor Vasiliev, reports News.ru.
As the specialist admitted, it is necessary to install at least two locks in a steel door – a lever and a cylinder, they are able to protect against various types of breaking. At the same time, for the first type of locks, armor plates 1.5-2 mm thick should be provided, and for the second type, special armor plates are suitable that do not allow the cylinder to be knocked out.
In addition, Vasiliev warned that if one of the locks is rarely used, the mechanism begins to clog and jam.
“To prevent the key from jamming, it is better to use all the locks,” Vasiliev added.
