Law enforcement officers of Karachay-Cherkessia detained officials who bought shoes for 100 million rubles
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Federal Security Service reported the theft of budget funds in the amount of more than 100 million rubles in Karachay-Cherkessia. Instead of alleged drugs and medical equipment, the suspects bought shoes. This was told by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
Law enforcement officers of Karachay-Cherkessia detained the suspects, among them were the deputy chairman of the government of the republic, Irina Gerbekova, and 6 other people. After a search, dozens of expensive shoes were found.
In the process of work, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB of the Russian Federation stopped the illegal activities of the community, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.
The FSB estimated the damage to the state in excess of 100 million rubles.
