Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Vladimir Burmatov spoke about the formation of a draft law on the seizure of pets for cruel treatment. Izvestia writes about it.
The deputy noted that now a violator can be fined for cruelty to an animal, but this does not guarantee that after that the owner will treat the pet differently.
For example, Burmatov recalled bloggers who are ready to mock animals live for the sake of views and likes.
In particular, the parliamentarian announced the need to start implementing the confiscation of wild animals, prescribing a detailed mechanism for this in the law.
“… it is obvious that keeping such animals in apartments is in itself cruel treatment to them, since they cannot live in such conditions,” the deputy said.
Earlier, the head of the All-Russian Organization of Responsible Dog Breeders, the head of the Amstaff, Bull Terrier and Pit Bull Protection Club, Olesya Borisenko, in an interview with NSN, announced the need to introduce registration of dogs, which could solve many problems, including self-walking.
