Alexei Zaitsev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that the incident with the refusal of five Chinese citizens to cross the Russian-Kazakh border has no political context.
Zaitsev said the incident would not affect bilateral relations between the countries.
Earlier it was reported that, according to preliminary data, Chinese citizens indicated a different checkpoint in their visa application, because of which they were denied entry. The Chinese Embassy demanded that the Russian Federation conduct an investigation. Zaitsev said that the note from the Chinese side was sent to the border service of the FSB of Russia.
