President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov said that the RFU delegation will take part in the congress of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which will be held on February 8 in Paris. The composition of the Russian delegation has already been determined, reported TASS Mr. Dyukov.

The UEFA Congress is the highest governing body of European football. The powers of the congress, in particular, include the election of the president and executive committee of the association.

Russian national teams and clubs have been suspended from participation in international competitions by UEFA and the International Football Federation (FIFA) since February 2022. Since then, the Russian national team has played 11 friendly matches: won four times, drew six times, lost once.

At the end of December, members of the RFU executive committee discussed the current status of relations with international football organizations. As part of this discussion, none of the members of the executive committee supported the idea of leaving UEFA and moving under the auspices of the Asian Football Confederation.
