The Russian Football Union confirmed the information about the appeal to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), as well as to the International Football Federation (FIFA) – it contains a request to punish the head coach of the Ukrainian national football team Oleksandr Petrakov.

FIFA and UEFA have previously decided to remove the Russian national team, as well as all football clubs representing Russia, from participating in competitions controlled by the two football organizations.
