The Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft with Russian cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky and Belarusian Marina Vasilevskaya on board will return from the ISS not on April 2, but on April 6. The Roscosmos press service announced the postponement of the flight following a meeting of the corporation’s state commission. The cosmonauts were supposed to go to the ISS on March 21 on the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft, but at the last moment happened automatic launch cancellation. The rocket will be launched tomorrow, March 23.

“The return of Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, space flight participant from the Republic of Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya, as well as NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara on the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft is scheduled for April 6,” the message says (quoted from website Roscosmos).

Mr. Novitsky and Ms. Vasilevskaya will travel to the ISS on the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft, which will relaunch on Saturday, March 23, at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Loral O’Hara has been on the station since September 15, 2023, and was a member of the prime crew of Soyuz MS-24 when it departed for the ISS.

The reason for the cancellation of the launch of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft, on board which were Oleg Novitsky, Marina Vasilevskaya and American Tracy Dyson, was cited by the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, as a voltage drop in the chemical current source.
