The prosecutor’s office will check the actor Panin for public calls for terrorism – Kommersant

The Moscow prosecutor’s office will check the actor Alexei Panin, who lives in Spain, for public calls for terrorist activities on the Internet (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and violation of the territorial integrity of Russia (part 2 of article 280.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), law enforcement agencies told TASS.

According to Art. 205.2 Aleksey Panin can face up to seven years in prison, according to 280.1 of the Criminal Code – up to five years. The inspection will last approximately until the beginning of September and, if necessary, will be extended.

The head of the Federal Project for Security and Combating Corruption (FPBK) Vitaly Borodin and the head of the Safe Internet League previously pointed to possible violations by Mr. Panin Ekaterina Mizulina. Mr. Borodin complained about the content of Ksenia Sobchak’s interview with the actor, published at the end of July, to the Prosecutor General’s Office, Ms. Mizulina’s organization to the Investigative Committee.

The complaints noted that Mr. Panin insulted Russia and the Russians, condemned the president’s decisions regarding the special operation, and approved of the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. Since more than 1 million 600 thousand people watched the interview at that time, this makes the actor’s statements public, the letters noted.
