The prosecutor’s office of Berlin sentenced a Russian citizen for attempting to set fire to the office of RIA Novosti

The Berlin prosecutor’s office has convicted a Russian citizen for attempting to set fire to the office of the RIA Novosti news agency, as well as for attempted murder. This is reported by the TV channel ARD.

According to him, this was done by Dmitry B., who has been living in Germany since the 90s. Prior to that, he organized actions against the Russian authorities in Berlin. Now the citizen is sitting in a pre-trial detention center after being detained in December 2022. Prosecutors are charging him with attempted murder.

The man pleads not guilty. According to the defendant’s lawyer, the offender hosted Ukrainian refugees, among whom there was allegedly a provocateur who set the fire. At the same time, the investigation has no information that would confirm such a scenario.

Earlier, Nikolai Yuryev from Russia, who was going to set fire to the military enlistment office in Novouralsk, Sverdlovsk Region, on June 3, had his preventive measure changed.
