The Prosecutor General’s Office did not find extremism in the collection of hadiths Sahih al-Bukhari

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation responded to the request of Ismail-Khadzhi Berdiev, Chairman of the Coordinating Center for Muslims of the North Caucasus.
He asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to clarify the decision of the Laishevsky District Court of Tatarstan to recognize as extremist material the translation from Arabic of the summary of the book Sahih al-Bukhari “Reliable Traditions from the Life of the Prophet Muhammad” performed by A. Nirshi. The book, as noted, contains “a clear presentation of the hadiths of the Authentic Collection, compiled by Abu-l-Abbas Ahmad bin Abd al-Latif al-Zubaidi.”
Reportedly that by a court decision “a printed publication (book), with the exception of the suras, ayats and quotations from the Qur’an Sahih al-Bukhari (translated by Nirsh) contained in it” was recognized as extremist material prohibited for distribution on the territory of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, the Prosecutor General’s Office instructed a group of experts, which included an Islamic scholar, a linguist and a master of Islamic theology, to conduct an additional study to establish how Nirshi’s translation corresponds to the canonical text. The experts found that this translation contains serious distortions “in favor of Salafi ideas about Islam.”
Therefore, the source – the canonical text of the book Sahih al-Bukhari – is not extremist material.
